About Me

My name is John Duckmanton.

I’m a Senior Cloud Solution Architect for Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the UK.

Ever since I saved up my pocket money to buy a Sinclair ZX81 (with a 16K RAM pack!) at the tender age of 12 I was hooked on computer programming and decided to make a career out of it.

I am passionate about the huge opportunities for innovation offered by Cloud Computing, from its ability to lower the barriers to entry for small-scale start-ups, to the democratizing of IT through harnessing capabilities only really available on cloud platforms, such as machine learning & AI.
